Digestive Green Juice

Health benefits: This is a fantastic digestive tonic, which is light, refreshing, easy to make, packed with nutrition & delicious! Celery & cucumber assist with digestion. Mint is a beneficial digestive tonic, helping to relieve bloating and flatulence and is useful in conditions like irritable bowel syndrome. The juice is alkaline, the lime adds immune boosting Vitamin C, and as a bonus celery and cucumber help regulate blood pressure.

I make my juices in a blender to retain all the nutrients and add ice to stop important enzymes being damaged by the heat generated by the blender.

Digestive Green Goddess Juice

Ingredients:

  • 4 celery stalks, roughly chopped.
  • 1 large (continental) or 2 small cucumbers, roughly chopped.
  • 1 cup of fresh mint
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 apple cored and un-peeled
  • 250ml of filtered or spring water
  • 8 ice cubes

Method:

Add the ingredients bit by bit with some water to a high speed blender (I use a Vitamix). Blend until you reach the consistency you like and enjoy straight away.

Good source of: Potassium, Vitamin C, Beta-carotene (converts to Vitamin A in the body), Folic acid and Vitamin B3.
